Reimagined: The Artist's Book

  • Google Calendar ICS

14 book artists are presenting unique sculpted book objects that challenge the definition of a book. Join us on February 26 from 5-7 PM for an opening reception at the Cannon Art Gallery in Carlsbad, CA.

Five of my artist’s book sculptures will be featured including: The Parallel of You, Knitting a New Story, Nana Ko Hana, Space Dynamics, and Wings Within Wings. It is a nice survey of my work from the last 10 years.

“…Using a wide range of materials and artistic approaches the artists in Bound and Unbound VI explored the use of materials ranging from glass to fabric, photography to metal. My own interest in materiality and unexpected solutions to aesthetic issues led me to make the choices that I did. During the process I learned a tremendous amount about how this group of artists all approached the same problem.”

The Rochester, NY Public Library will be exhibiting works from international book artists this summer.  My pieces Some Paths Lead Home, Written in Stone, and Parallel of You were selected. I am very excited about this exhibit as I attended college in Rochester so it is full of good memories for me.

“The act of weaving papers together has a rhythm that is reminiscent of feet walking a familiar path. Take a visual stroll with this meandering book; its mirror-like cover reflecting your thoughts and hinting at the contents inside.” -Some Paths Lead Home
